How to turn off JAVA in Safari to avoid the Flashback trojan

There’s a reasonable amount of talk lately about this new trojan that is running around infecting Macs via JAVA. Here’s a link to help determine if you’re infected .

You can also update JAVA via Apple’s Software update, or download it from this page (updated link to Java for OS X Lion 2012-002).

In the meantime, I whipped up a quick video tutorial on how to protect your Mac by turning off JAVA in Safari.

Not sure if you’re infected? ¬†Christina Warren¬†wrote up some AppleScripts to determine if your Mac is infected (download link is at the bottom of her page).
