Email Smart Mailbox tip for Mail.app

Step 1 of creating a new smart mailboxIf you are like me and have a few email accounts, a slew of mailing lists, filters routing your email into folders and folders within folders, here is a nifty tip I thought up the other day, so I don't have to go digging through the hierarchy of mail folders to see a new email that just pinged in.

On the bottom left of Mail.app's window, there is a gear icon that you can click on. It will reveal a series of options, including New Smart Mailbox.

Select this, and a window will pop up. Create a name for the folder - I like "New Email All Folders".

Click the first drop down box and select the option "Message is unread", and click okay.

Now you have this über-handy Smart Mailbox that will leave your precious email filters in place, keeping your email organized and where you'd like it.
