Eventolicious week

4:36PM, February 01, 2007 - [ Permalink]

Quite the week full of events! Last night was the Ottawa Weblogger Meetup Group (yes, I skipped badminton). In attendance: our fearless leader James Cogan, dragfyre, Jeff Parks (congratulations! ), Zachary Houle (good luck), The Phantom Observer (Victor Wong), Mishka’s Playground, and two new faces, Aurielis and Jennifer, who didn't actually have a blog (yet?). Good time, lots of information passed around.

Tonight we are off to see Sojourn play at the LiVE LOUNGE (formerly The Thirsty Scholar) tonight around nine.

A photo I took of Sojourn appears in the The Glengarry NewsSpeaking of Sojourn, one of my photos of them performing at Zaphod Beeblebrox (back in July of last year) appeared (with permission, of course) in the January 10, 2007 issue of The Glengarry News. They even have me a copy so I could see my photo in print - neat. I'll scan it in eventually. I've added it.

Tomorrow is my usual errands and work @ Pattys day, followed by one of our favorite monthly events, World Eats and Beats, which is organized by Brad. We haven't been able to make it a couple of times (life), but this is always fun. Usually held at the Mercury Lounge, this time it is being held on the second floor of the Ottawa School of Art (pretty messed up in Safari).

Saturday is the Snowsuit Fund - Fundraiser Dance Party, which I'm working at (video), but Halyma the belly dancer is performing. Raising money for the Snowsuit Fund is always a good thing (until global warming fixes the whole cold-in-winter problem). This event is organized by Catharine Crerar, whom I am pleased to announce has launched a website for her Daisies and Dragons Daycare (which I designed and built for her). Congratulations, Catharine!

Sunday afternoon is the ByMUG meeting, and this month one of the members, Dave will be demonstrating Virtual Network Computing (VNC) to the group. Of course, we'll be discussing the iPhone and Apple TV, as well as any new applications, tip & tricks we've come up with, and (try to) answer any questions that arise.
