Taking a PowerBook Apart in 35 seconds.

3:54PM, January 12, 2007 - [ Permalink]

The key to being able to take a PowerBook apart so quickly is the use of time-lapse videography. In this case, I used the iSight camera in my MacBook Pro to record the event and iMovie to edit it - after Andy's demo at ByMUG this month, I figured I should try "slumming" it out in iMovie rather than doing it in Final Cut Pro.

I found iMovie to be okay, but it certainly lacks the control that I am used to in Final Cut Pro, but I think that it is certainly fine for most applications. The text in the video isn't *exactly* the way I wanted it, but you know what? I can live with that - otherwise I have to import the whole thing into FCP and re-do everything.

The video looks pretty pixelated, but that it is because of YouTube's compression. It looks splendid here. ;-)

The video is also viewable on Google Video and the newly into public-beta video.ca - congrats James
