Ottawa: Introduction to Mac Course June 7 and July 12, 2008
Friday
Apr 25, 2008
Now that the details are now worked out, I can safely announce that Dave Rostenne and I will be offering offering two more of our popular (the first one sold out in less than a week) combined course for users who are new to Macs, or have just “switched”. The course will take place over at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO), and you can find details on their special interest page or in this printable PDF file.
Description of “Introduction to Macs”
The afternoon will be spent with Mac computers unraveling the mysteries. Beginning with the physical aspects of the computer, Tom Leroux (that would be me!) and David Rostenne, founding members of the Bytown Mac User Group, aim to “get people comfortable enough to work effectively with their computers”.
Learn how to configure and interact with Mac OS X, and some handy hints for ease of understanding. We will be covering System Preferences and the Finder in depth, and brief overviews of Address Book, Mail, Safari, iCal and iTunes. There will be time at the end to address specific questions, which may arise.
Students are encouraged to bring their Mac laptops to follow along.
The cost and how to register
The cost is a very reasonable $79, and to register, you can either call (613) 562-3824 or email ADMIN@SPAO.CA. Register soon, because seating is limited to 15 people!
