A few days ago, a friend of mine dropped off some stuff he had come across on gallstones, and a possible method of getting them out.

It involves drinking a fair amount of epson salts in water, followed a few hours later by olive oil and grapfruit juice, sleep, more water with epson salts.

Both the epson salt water and the olive oil are rather unpleasant going down.

I slept reasonably well, and this morning awoke and had two more glasses of epson salt water, two hours apart.

Low and behold, I went to the washroom (really nasty on the way out) and when I looked, there were a great number of little green bits in the toilet – most likely gallstones. I stopped counting at 50. I would estimate that there would likely be at least ten times that many in the bowl. And that was the first run to the washroom (really, a run). There were several more runs to the washroom throughout the day, each less intense than the last.

I think I will try this again next weekend and see what happens.

I was tempted to try having pancakes tomorrow at brunch, but after thinking about it a bit, I will wait until after I have seen the specialist on Monday (fingers crossed).

Anyways, I feel reasonably well now, and my spirits are certainly up.
